Furniture Care with Gilly's - Orange Oil Furniture Polish

Furniture Care with Gilly's - Orange Oil Furniture Polish

Introduced to the Gilly's range in 1994, our Orange Oil Furniture Polish is a longtime favourite of our customers. It smells delightful (like freshly squeezed oranges) because it is made using cold pressed sweet orange oil. It is easy to use and can be wiped on with a lint-free cloth or brushed on with a paintbrush. We love using our Bamboo Polishing Cloths to apply any of Gilly's oils.

Thanks to the food grade ingredients, our Orange Oil Furniture Polish is completely food safe. It can be used on all of your timber or bamboo food preparation areas, bowls and food service utensils. It will deeply nourish and prevent cracking. We sell it in the handy 100ml bottles under the name Chopping Board Oil (orange).

Many customers who have been using Marveer for several years (which is no longer available) have found our Orange Oil Furniture Polish to be an excellent (and superior) substitute on their furniture.

Orange Oil Furniture Polish is excellent as an overall spruce-up for any timber furniture. It dries to a matte finish and will accentuate the contrast of the grain. The effect is to darken the timber slightly (as if it were wet). One of the more popular applications of our Orange Oil Furniture Polish is to moisturise and seal the interior of timber furniture. It's wonderful inside and underneath drawers. As long as any excess is wiped away (there seldom is any on unfinished timber as it is much more porous), there is no issue with staining the contents of the drawer. Of course, it makes the interior smell wonderful and at the same time, it protects and moisturises this often neglected area of the piece.

The orange essential oil made from crushed orange peels, is a type of natural solvent, which helps to clean as well as polish. It also has mould-inhibiting properties and that makes it ideal for those living in more tropical climates. You can even add a couple of drops of clove essential oil to boost this effect (if you don't mind the spicy smell!) We have had customers call in to let us know that they have had wonderful results cleaning flood damaged furniture with our Orange Oil Furniture Polish.

Other uses include treating on timber blinds, on children's furniture, toys and cane/bamboo furniture. Here's a video featuring Orange Oil Furniture Polish on finishing cane furniture:
