Monto Mitre 10 is a local, family-owned store located in Monto, a small rural service centre for the surrounding agricultural area, inland from Bundaberg, Queensland.
Jocelyn and Brett opened Monto Hardware and Plumbing 7 years ago, having owned several businesses in the town, including a real estate agency, along with a cattle and livestock agency. They currently own and run both the hardware store and the electrical goods store in Monto.
We spoke to Jocelyn about her passion for sourcing new and interesting products for their store. Their range is so enormous, it's really more of a department store.
Jocelyn is a 5th generation Monto resident; her great, great grandfather settled in the area from Canada. Eager to promote and support their town, she and Brett are enthusiastic about loyalty and customer service. They employ 7 staff across the two businesses; a valuable contribution to the local economy.
Not only do they stock an excellent range of general hardware, they stock ride-on mowers and woodburning fires. They also have a good range of camping gear.
The garden centre houses herbs, veggie seedlings, flowering plants and a variety of indoor plants. You'll find whitegoods, plant pots, pool chemicals and paint as well. A comprehensive range of gift and home-wares ensures that locals can use Monto Mitre 10 as a one-stop shop for almost anything!
They recently came on board with Gilly's and now stock a range of our products, including the Mezzie and Frank range of furniture paints. We are very proud to be working with the Monto M10 team.

Team Gilly’s, thanks for calling out the Monto Mitre 10 enterprising owners, Jocelyn and Brett What a Blessing they are to their local community and far superior to any big green box store in any big city or country town. They probably know many of their customers. The products they sell and their service must be reliable otherwise survival would suffer.
