An all-purpose timber and cane furniture maintenance oil. Orange Oil is 100% plant based and food safe, contains no silicone and smells wonderful. It is one of our most popular products, and a great choice for maintaining furniture in a safe, natural way.
An excellent alternative to waxing, if a high sheen is not required. Gilly’s Orange Oil has great cleaning properties and is exceptional for old neglected furniture as it both cleans and restores. It is also a simple way of keeping cane and bamboo furniture in good condition and for feeding unpolished surfaces, such as drawers and undersides of tables. It darkens the timber as if it were wet - the natural orange colour does not stain.
Use For
Timber furniture, cane & bamboo, antiques, kitchen utensils, chopping boards, children’s toys, underside of draws/tables.
Please note, this product is not the same as pure orange oil. Whilst we do use pure cold-pressed orange oil in the formula, it is a blend and not suitable to be used in conjunction with our Pure Tung Oil. We recommend our LoThin for this purpose.

Surface Preparation |
Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application. An all purpose cleaner will do the trick. |
How to Apply |
|
Dry Time |
Dry time between coats is 5-10 minutes to allow oil to soak in. This oil essentially remains in the timber keeping it nourished. It will not ‘dry’ in the same way a varnish or tung oil formula would. |
Maintenance |
Gilly’s Orange Oil can be reapplied as frequently as required (if the timber becomes dull or dry). There is no need for any extra work, just follow the simple steps above. We would recommend reapplying a light coat every 4-6 months to keep your timber looking fresh. The more oil that has been applied over time, the less it will require for maintenance. |
Clean Up |
Warm, soapy water for hands and application cloths. |

Frequently Asked Questions About Citrus Cleaners
How often do I need to apply Gilly’s Orange Oil?
To keep your timber looking as fresh as possible, it is recommended that you re-apply every 4-6 months. However, there is no set rule. If your timber is starting to appear dry, take that as your cue to give it another application. It will not only nourish the dry timber, but also clean any dust or grime on the timber as it's a citrus wood cleaner.
How much oil do I need to complete my project?
A little goes a long way, so we advise to only use a small amount to begin with and add more if required.
Will the oil darken my timber?
Not at all. Gilly’s Orange Oil cleans and polishes without changing the colour of the timber, it will only deepen the natural colour that may have faded as it dried out.
How Long do I Have to use my Oil Once it has Been Opened?
Use within 24 months for the best results. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat to preserve freshness.
