Launched in 1980 by duo Roslyn and Bruce Edwards, this amazing store is packed to the rafters with beautifully restored (and over 400 unrestored) beds along with an excellent range of antique furniture. Master craftsman Bruce painstakingly restores every aspect of each bed, rejuvenating them to their former glory. Roslyn and Bruce have over 37 years’ experience and 3,500 restorations under their 'business belt'. From cast iron and brass through to Federation timber and antique timber beds, Antique Bed Specialists are truly that.
Roslyn Nor, half of the team, has a vast knowledge of antiques in general. With 38 years’ experience in retail, she began her antiques journey dealing in linen and lace. These days, Roslyn focuses her expertise on antique beds and specialises in brass, cast iron, iron and timber beds in addition to the period furniture associated with them.
Bruce, the other half of the team, is a qualified A grade automobile engineer. His 20 years’ experience in this field prepared him well for the transition to restoration of antique beds. His engineering knowledge and understanding has enabled him to successfully modify the antique beds to our modern-day queen and king sizes. Each one is subtly reinforced to allow for these adjustments.
It’s not just about beds. The Antique Bed Specialist stocks a range of household antique furniture. There are many other antique items available, including china, tools, maritime memorabilia and of course, a very comprehensive range of care products.
Antique Bed Specialists also offer a restoration service. Customers can choose one of the unrestored beds in the warehouse or, they can bring in their own bed for Bruce to lovingly bring back to its former glory. Each restoration is a masterpiece and can become a family heirloom for generations to come.

Antique Bed Specialists are one of the many stores located in the enormous historic Tyabb Packing House Antiques centre (once a storage facility for apples and pears), where customers can enjoy looking through a vast display of retro, antique and vintage collectables. Victoria’s lockdown is about to be lifted so, why not make a day of it and enjoy a meal at one of the two cafes?
