Scratch Cover - For Furniture & Floors

Scratch Cover for Furniture & Floors is ideal for colouring over scratches and is also useful for reviving timber that isn't in bad enough condition to merit stripping back. May also be used as a stain on raw timber to darken it.

It can disguise scuffs and scratches on bamboo and timber floors (including laminates). It is available in two shades: 'Light' for lighter timbers such as oak, blackbutt and pine; and 'Dark' for a variety of darker timbers such as jarrah, merbau and bluegum. If your floor is a combination of light and dark, the best choice is the Dark version.

Use For

Timber or bamboo

Surface Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application.

How to Apply

  1. Tip some of the product onto a clean, lint-free cloth and wipe over the affected area. Follow with another clean, lint-free cloth to remove any excess as it can be a slipping hazard on lacquered floors..
  2. If you intend to use the dark version to restore an area of faded timber, do not wipe away excess immediately. Leave to dry overnight and polish back vigorously the next day. The resin will buff to a good sheen.

Dry Time

10 minutes if wiped back straight away.

Re-apply if affected areas become dull or pale.

Clean Up

Warm, soapy water for hands/cloth.

Wonderful products and easy to use!

We have a Huon pine dresser that we purchased 40 years ago. I think it is approximately 130 years old. Over the years some scratches have developed from daily use. After a recommendation to try Gilly’s from Turn O’the Century Antiques we used the scratch cover and then the liquid bees wax. You can hardly see the scratches. The dresser looks amazing! The products were so easy to use! The follow up offer of help from Gilly’s was generous too even though we didn’t need it. Wonderful products! Thank you!
