About: A special blend of linseed oils, uniquely treated through proprietary heating and processing methods that convert the oil into a semi-polymerised state. This results in a faster curing drying oil, with less yellowing, better mechanical properties and better weathering than other conventional linseed oils and drying oils. This oil is free from solvents, driers, additives and other chemicals that ‘boiled’ linseed oils and other similarly marketed products contain. It can be mixed with other drying oils and thinners should it be desired but is fine for use on its own. It still has good spreadability and will be easier than that of Pure Tung Oil.
Features/USPs: 100% Natural; Renewable; VOC Free; Food Safe
Use For: Kitchen timber; Children’s furniture; Timber sealer; Wooden floors; Woodwork projects; DIY wood finishes; General furniture
Surface Prep: Ensure surface is clean and dry.
Application: Apply uniformly with cloth/brush. Leave to sit for up to 30 minutes, wipe away excess and firmly buff in. Apply 2-3 coats initially. Best to wait 24 hours between coats. Cures in 3-4 weeks. Avoid water and spills initially – wipe off immediately – light use is otherwise fine. Can be mixed with Gilly’s Pure Tung Oil and thinned with Gilly’s LoThin or turps.
Dry Time: 24 hours between coats. Allow longer in cold or humid conditions. Light use okay within 1 week – take care to avoid spills during this time. Full cure takes up to 4 weeks.
Coverage: Up to 25 sqm p/L. Subsequent coats or maintenance coats will have much higher coverage.
Cleanup: Gilly’s LoThin or Liquid Soap.
Maintenance: Assess every 12 months.
