Description

Gilly’s Carnauba Polish is a fast-drying finishing wax designed to create a hard, durable surface with a beautiful high-sheen finish. Rich in natural carnauba wax and beeswax, it spreads easily, hardens quickly, and buffs to a smooth, protective polish that enhances the natural beauty of timber.

Carnauba wax is known as one of the hardest natural waxes available, making it ideal for creating a tougher, longer-lasting finish than softer wax polishes. Once buffed, it forms a resilient protective layer that helps shield timber surfaces from everyday wear while maintaining their natural look and character.

Carnauba Polish can be used as a stand-alone finishing wax or as the final step in Gilly’s Three-Step Waxing Process, where it builds the final protective layer over previously conditioned timber.

Application

 

Surface Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application. Timber needs to be previously waxed or oiled before application. Not suitable for raw timber.

How to Apply
  1. Dip a clean, lint-free cloth and spread sparingly over the surface, not more than one square metre at a time, in a circular motion. 
  2. Buff back vigorously with a soft, lint-free cloth or buffing pads.
  3.  Use up to three coats, buffing well between each coat. Allow 20 - 30 minutes between coats.

Dry Time

20 minutes provided excess is wiped away.

Maintenance

Depending on wear, apply if the waxed area becomes dull or faded.

Clean Up

Warm, soapy water for hands or cloth. Excess wax on timber; dampen a cloth with d-limonene or mineral turpentine.
